On August 17, 2026, a caregiver failed to demonstrate good judgment when the caregiver did not verify a child’s identity and assigned school prior to releasing the child from the transportation vehicle, resulting in the child being dropped off at and entering the wrong elementary school.

This standard was evaluated as part of an investigation and was deficient. Staff failed to demonstrate good judgment by allowing infants to crawl on outdoor surfaces during extreme heat conditions. An infant crawled from the shaded artificial turf onto hot concrete, resulting in second-degree burns to both knees and burns to both palms requiring emergency medical treatment.
