A caregiver briefly stepped out of the classroom to answer the front door. In addition, one infant was observed sleeping in the front classroom alone while another caregiver had stepped into the kitchen. Note: This was corrected when the caregivers went into their classrooms.
Based upon evidence collected during the DFPS investigation, a caregiver was laying down with her back to a child during naptime, which led to the child exiting the operation without the caregiver's knowledge. In addition, the caregiver was observed laying down on the classroom floor during this time.
Based upon evidence collected during the DFPS investigation, it was determined that neglectful supervision occurred when a child exited the operation through the front door and was gone for approximately ten minutes, having crossed a road before being found by a neighbor who alerted the operation of her whereabouts.

The Director failed to utilize tools provided by Child Care Regulation to assist in evaluation of the center by utilizing checklists, resulting in non-compliance at the time of review.
